May 07, 2013 @ 17:51:26

The 7PHP.com site, in collaboration with the Nomand PHP user group is giving away two free tickets to attend this month's user group event (happening May 22nd).

NomadPHP is like a virtual PHP User Group mainly for people who do not have the chance to avail of a local PHP user group. But it is open to ANYONE around the world. NomadPHP is an initiative brought forward by the icon of The PHP Community, namely ‘His Awesomeness’ Mr Cal Evans. It will kick-start its first group talk session on the Wednesday 22nd May 2013 (i.e in some 16 days as from the date of this post). The speaker is the PRO PHP Guy / PRO Zend Framework Evangelist and author of the book Zend Framework in action, Rob Allen. Rob will be introducing and talking about Zend Framework 2 – it is a must for anyone willing to learn ZF 2.

The Nomad PHP user group is designed to be a "user group for those that don't have one". It's a virtual group meeting once a month that you can attend anywhere in the world. You do have to purchase tickets, however. This post shows you how you can enter to win one of the two free tickets, though - either via email or by writing a PHP article for 7PHP.com.

Contest! Write a small piece of sample code, win a free copy of Zend Studio
Jul 18, 2007 @ 22:26:00

The Zend Developer Zone (and Zend) are running a new contest where you could win yourself a free copy of their popular Zend Studio IDE.

It's a very poorly kept secret that Zend is working on the next generation of Zend Studio. They must be getting down to the 'fit and finish' pieces of the project because my buddy Yossi wrote me and asked me to enlist the help of the PHP community at large. So here's his request. The Zend Studio team needs your help. They are looking for a code snippet to showcase the syntax highlighting and debugging capabilities of Zend Studio.

They're looking for certain types of code snippets and a list of the criteria are included in the ZDZ post. The deadline's at at midnight (Pacific) on July the 26th, so get those snippets together and get them sent off for your chance to win!

Win a FREE Copy of Zend Studio
May 29, 2007 @ 17:55:00

On the Zend Developer Zone, there's a new post that has the info on how you could get your hands on a free copy of Zend's Studio software (a $300 USD value).

My good friend Avigail was kind enough to cough up some copies of Zend Studio and even a license for Zend Guard. [...] We’ve got a quiz (No, not a survey, a quiz!) to test your mad Zend Studio skillz. If you don’t have said skillz, I’d suggest downloading the Free 30 Day Trial of Zend Studio and develop them.

Once you are a Studio-Fu master, take the quiz by clicking on this link.

First prize is a Zend Studio perpetual license + Zend Guard annual license, second prize (3 winners) are licenses for Zend Studio Professional, and third prize winners (200 winners) get a 50% off coupon for a purchase of Zend Studio.
