May 07, 2009 @ 14:33:13

The symfony blog has announced an event happening this year on June 11th and 12th in Paris, France - the first symfony live conference.

I am very proud and excited to announce the very first symfony live conference, organized by Sensio Labs, with the help of the AFUP. The conference will be held in France, Paris, between June 11th and June 12th. Even if the conference is only for French speaking people, it is yet another important step for the building of the symfony community in the world.

The conference will not only allow developers to enjoy the wide range of sessions and speakers, but they'll also have the opportunity to listen in as major website developers (like Yahoo! and Dailymotion) talk about using symfony in their development.

You can register now to reserve your spot. Prices start at 100 Euro for Students and go up to 200 Euro for a normal pass for the two day event. You can find out more information on the conference's main site.

    Government-Organized PHP Seminar in France
    Jun 21, 2006 @ 11:09:48

Zeev Suraski has posted about a French government-organized PHP seminar he spoke at yesterday, held by the DGME.

It was held in a conference room in one of the Minefi (Ministry of Finance) buildings, no less. Most of the attendees were coming from various governmental agencies and ministries, to learn more about PHP success stories and best practices. Presenters came from Oracle, alapage.com, DGME, Zend and others.

He describes the seminar as being the first of its kind in France, especially organized by such a large entity as the government there. As the trends in PHP adoption shift, however, things like this will be happening more and more.
