The applicant should be comfortable interacting with business customers to determine software requirements and understand business strategies. The candidate must be a hands-on web application developer who can work well individually and as a team member.

Candidates local to the Houston area, or who are willing to relocate, are preferred.

Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to design, construct, and maintain object-oriented web systems using the PHP scripting language.
• An understanding of design-pattern principles, especially Model-View-Controller (or similar patterns)
• Proficiency with XML, XSD, and Schema
• Strong knowledge of (X)HTML, Javascript, and DOM
• Experience with AJAX and CSS is a plus
• Web service programming (SOAP and WSDL) is a plus
• Experience with MySQL database design and programming

• Exposure to PHP frameworks (specifically, the Zend Framework)
• Exposure to Javascript frameworks (specifically, Prototype and script.aculo.us)
• Zend Certified Engineer certification is a plus
