Run Geek Radio Launched & Episode 1 (Podcast)
Apr 21, 2015 @ 15:48:36

Adam Culp, well-known PHP community member and organizer of both the Sunshine PHP conference and ZendCon, has started up a new podcast that's targeted at blending the two things he enjoys most - geeky "stuff" and running.

My plans behind the podcast is to bring together two things I love to do…programming, and running. It only makes sense that I would want to share in both areas, and a podcast is a great way to do that. With the resurgence of podcasts lately I felt a little bit of peer pressure to attempt my own, and so far I have received wonderful reviews from PHP developers who also run, or runners who are also programmers.

You can find out more about the show over on rungeekradio.com or just tune in to the first episode and see what you think. This first show deals with conferences, user group talks and performance audit tools. If you enjoy the show, be sure to subscribe to the feed to get more episodes as they're released.

Sound of Symfony Podcast, Episode 1
Jun 06, 2014 @ 14:56:48

A new podcast has joined the list of things for your PHP-related listening pleasure, the Sound of Symfony podcast. This new show, hosted by Magnus Nordlander and Tobias Nyholm, focuses in on the Symfony ecosystem and things that revolve around it. They're already posted their first episode too - Episode 1 - The one where we're audio production noobs.

In our first episode, coming to you straight from a small conference room in Stockholm, Sweden, we go through the news, interview a prominent community member, and run through the conference calendar for the year. Of course, since this is our first episode, it has some mandatory audio production mistakes, we're sorry about those. Nothing too horrible, you might not even hear it, but we'll always know it's there, and we'll make sure to do better next month!

You can listen to this first episode through the in-page player or you can just subscribe to their feed and get this and future shows as they're released.

As Konstantin Kudryashov points out in his latest post, a new PHP-related podcast has started up hosted by him and Mathias Verraes called the Elephant in the Room. Their inaugural episode is titled Design is Hard

We decided at the PHPNW13 conference to start a PHP podcast. In our very first podcast episode ever, we discuss the importance of design. And, because we might as well start with a bang, we talk about caching and naming things as well. We’re all over the place.

You can download the full episode from the Elephant in the Room site and get some links to things mentioned in the show.
