Doug Hill's Blog:
60 Days What is it?
December 24, 2008 @ 12:33:35

Doug Hill has proposed a new project that he hopes to get the community behind - 60 Days:

60 Days is an idea I had while trying to decide what to do with the domains I have sitting around doing nothing - (well nothing but being a nagging reminder that I'll never have time for every idea that pops into my head, and that domain names cost money to keep).

The goal of the project is to take a domain you're not currently using (and you know you have some out there) and making something - a "real world project" - on it in 60 days. the catch is that, for each domain you use for the effort, it has to be a different PHP framework. Keep an eye out for the January 1 launch date for more details.

Felix Geisendorfer's Blog:
10 Days of Free Dessert!
September 18, 2006 @ 07:29:20

Over on the ThinkingPHP Blog, Felix Geisendorfer has posted several items to his blog in a his series of Ten Days of Free Dessert with some useful tips about using the CakePHP Framework.

I'm announcing the "10 Days of free Dessert!". This basically means that I'll post at least 1 useful and easy to adapt CakePHP tip begining tomorrow for the next 10 days. I will try to pick things you might not have heard before and that didn't get a lot of loving from the docs team so far.

Here's the listing so far:

Each of the posts contains a description of the feature and some code to show how it's done. It's a great, handy little series of posts for any CakePHP developer to keep in their toolkit to pull from later on.

Davey Shafik's Blog:
php|tek Days 0 & 1
April 26, 2006 @ 16:18:33

Davey Shafik has already gotten some of his experiences down in blog post form from the php|tek conference today, actually starting with the day previous in his Day 0 and Day 1 posts.

In the Day 0 post he just mentions arriving at the conference and getting things ready, but Day 1 sees him giving his "Future Deployment of PHP Applications" talk and his upcoming "Migration to PHP 5.1".

He also mentions videoing the presentation from today ("Deployment" talk) and is hoping to get a Flash video of the presentation up for all to see post-conference (a great idea for non-attendees).
