The Laravel News site has posted their latest in the "Artisan Files" series today, this time spotlighting Chris Gmyr, author of the larave-messenger package.

This week I’m happy to have Chris Gmyr share a little about himself in this weeks Artisan Files interview.

They talk some about Chris and his background as a developer as well as:

  • Why he originally created the laravel-messenger package
  • His thoughts on using Laravel and AngularJS
  • What his favorite Laravel feature is
  • Some of his "must have" apps

The Laravel News site has posted their latest interview in their "Artisan Files" series with this look into the world of Sara Bine, a developer from Denver, Colorado.

In the interview she answers questions about:

  • Her background in development and how she got started
  • What some of her favorite open source packages are
  • Her "must have" desktop and mobile applications are
  • Hobbies outside of development
  • Tips for people looking to make a career out of programming

She advises developers to try one new thing every day and building projects around things that interest you. Also...

As far as career advice goes, while I’m not far into my own career I’ll pass on the best advice I’ve received so far: it’s not up to you to decide if you’re qualified for a job, so don’t be afraid to apply.

The Laravel News site has posted their latest interview with a member of the Laravel community (their Artisan Files series). This time they talk with Eric Barnes, the person behind the Laravel Newsletter.

The Artisan Files: Yitzchok Willroth

On the Laravel News site today they've posted an interview with a member of the PHP community: Yitzchok Willroth, aka @coderrabbi. They talk some about his past, how he came to be a developer and what tools he works with on a daily basis.

This week I’m happy to introduce you to the most interesting developer in the world, Yitzchok Willroth aka @coderabbi. Yitzchok is the organizer of the ShorePHP User Group, an active participant in the PHPMentoring Initiative, and a conference speaker.

They start with a look at his past and how he made the transition over from rabbi to developer, mainly based around a major change in his family's life. He talks about the classes and programs he took to improve his skills and how he found some of his first work. They also talk about his contributions to mentoring other developers and where he sees the value in it. They talk about his upcoming php[world] talk, how he came to find and work with Laravel and what a typical day is like for him and his work.
