PHP North West 2009
Sep 03, 2009 @ 12:59:06

Lorna Mitchell has written up a new post for the IBuildings blog about the upcoming PHP North West conference happening in Manchester, UK in October.

10th October 2009 sees the second annual PHP Conference to be held in Manchester, PHP North West. As one of the organisers I've been watching the arrangements come together with growing excitement. [...] Some of the topics at this year's conference include various PHP frameworks, performance, Drupal, project management, and much more.

She goes on to say that the event (which you can still purchase tickets for, by the way) is regional but is aimed at PHP developers from all skill levels and locations. You can still get in on the Early Bird pricing if you hurry - the deadline's September 11th!

PHPNW: Schedule and Crowd-Sourcing
Aug 28, 2009 @ 14:21:51

Lorna Mitchell has posted an update about the PHP North West conference conference happening in Manchester in October.

Since I last posted here we also published the schedule. We were overwhelmed by the quality of the call for papers and there are some cracking sessions, excellent speakers, and lots of overlap between the two! [...] Finally, this year PHPNW is expanding and has added an informal schedule on the Sunday morning since we know lots of people will be staying over. This will run from 9 til 1 and we've put out a call to ask what people would like to see on the schedule.

The Sunday event (held here) is a time for both current presenters and attendees to cast their vote on topics they really want to hear about (outside of the excellent sessions already lined up, of course).

For more information about the conference or to purchase your tickets, check out the page for this year's event. The deadline for the early bird ticket pricing is September 12th.

Today is the Final Day for PHPNW 2009 Call for Papers
Aug 16, 2009 @ 13:27:54

For those wanting to submit their ideas for the PHP North West conference in Manchester, don't forget that today is the last day!

Calling everyone who knows something and is prepared to share! PHPNW09 is coming to Manchester on 10th October 2009 and we need speakers. This year the aim is to build on the great line-up of PHP talks from last year designed to raise everyone’s game, and this year we’re looking for sessions that will help us collaborate and perform in a team setting. Its a one-day event and we will have sessions of both 30 and 60 minutes in length. PHPNW has a definite local feel so we’re looking for new talent as well as established and experienced speakers – so if you’ve got something to say, submit a paper!

They've already had some great submissions so far so toss your hat into the ring and share your topic with the PHP community!
