Episode #14 - Diving Into a Laravel Audit
Feb 25, 2016 @ 13:51:55

The ReadOrListen podcast has posted their latest episode featuring the reading of a new article by Jesse Schutt about using Laravel Audit to evaluate the current state of a Laravel-based codebase (read by Jack Fruh).

Recently the Zaengle team was asked to look over an existing Laravel application and give a review of the overall state of the code. We were to act as an independent third party, between a new studio who had inherited the codebase, and the client, who was anticipating launching the product.

Laracasts Snippet:
Episode 14 - Russian-Doll Caching in Laravel
Feb 15, 2016 @ 10:22:05

The Laracasts Snippet podcast has posted their latest episode with a brief look at Russian-doll caching in Laravel.

One of the things I've been tinkering with these last few days is a mechanism for performing Russian-Doll caching in Laravel. In addition to determining if I can even make it work, I've been pondering whether this truly has a place in your future projects, or if there simply isn't enough value to warrant its usage. Who knows - let's talk about it.

The podcast also links to this series of posts on the Laracasts site on the subject. If you'd like to listen to this podcast, though, you can use either the in-page audio player or you can download the mp3 of the show. If you enjoy it, be sure to subscribe to their feed too.

PHP Town Hall:
Episode 14 - Ship Like a Canadian, Eh?
Oct 24, 2013 @ 09:04:47

The PHP Town Hall podcast has released their latest episode today - Episode 14, "Ship Like a Candian, Eh?"

This episode Ben and Phil are joined by Lee Tengum [of Pancake Payments], who has sold more apps than Phil and Ben have even thought of. [...] We got Lee on to share some of his success stories of building small, simple, useful products that do not try to be the next Facebook but make good money and help him keep his family in food, maple syrup and hockey gear. Making one application that sells for a bazillion dollars is fairly unlikely, so Lee tries to build “mortgage payments” instead, shipping early, iterating fast, bootstrapping the process and focusing on revenue from a very early point.

You can listen to this latest episode either through the in-page player or by downloading the full mp3 directly. You should also subscribe to their feed to get the latest updates from the show.
