Feb 01, 2011 @ 17:11:07

On the Ibuildings techPortal today there's a new video posted of a discussion between several of the published authors that were in attendance at the Dutch PHP Conference 2010 for a few questions.

Here’s a video from the Dutch PHP Conference 2010, where we pulled together some of the published technical authors at the event (many of them speakers) and asked them a few questions about books, writing, and getting published. Here’s what they had to say...

Authors included Cal Evans, Ivo Jansch, Rob Allen, Derick Rethans and Kevlin Henney who offer some of their tips on getting published and writing a book for yourself.

Tobias Schlitt's Blog:
Reading recommendation: "Exploring PHP"
Sep 06, 2006 @ 11:38:29

Tobias Schlitt shares some of his toughts on one of his latest in a list of books to read - Exporing PHP.

Although I did not read it, yet, I'd like to recommend it to you, since I think to know the authors good enough to believe they write good books.

In short, "Exploring PHP" is a roundup about advanced PHP programming experiences, covering different topics like: Event driven programming in PHP, Generation of 3D graphics, Refactoring and Migration, PHP6.

From the little that he's looked into the book, he can already tell it's a good resource and is recommending it based on that and the authors it comes from.

PHP-Tools Blog:
Exploring PHP to be published soon
Aug 06, 2006 @ 10:42:24

Stephan Schmidt has posted a new note today about the upcoming publication of "Exploring PHP", a book he's been working on.

I have been working on this together with Frank, Christian, Sandro and Kore and the book features five articles on advanced PHP topics. All articles in the book have been written in German.

He specifically mentions a part he contributed - a look at event-driven development (for component applications). The book also talks about using various PEAR packages and SimpleTest. The planned release date is August 17th from Entwickler Press (published in German).
