Matt Curry's Blog:
Book Review CakePHP Application Development
January 16, 2009 @ 10:29:41

On the PseudoCoder.com blog today Matt Curry has posted a book review of an offering from Packt Publishing - "CakePHP Application Development".

After completely exhausting their list of every CakePHP blog, Packt Publishing, broke down and sent me a free copy of CakePHP Application Development to review. I was really tempted to write a joke review [...] then when they sent me a nasty email, I would play dumb and be like "Oh...you wanted me to review the CONTENT of the book."

So review it he did. He talks about some of the introductory sections (downlading, installing, etc) and some of the example applications they walk you through to get you up and running in the CakePHP world of development. Overall, he considers the book "not that bad" but needing more content to be considered really useful outside of the beginner's world.
