If you're going to be attending this year's OSCON up in Portland, be sure not to miss out on the party that the Zend-ers (the Zend Developer Zone) and MySQL are throwing down the street.
Zend and MySQL are getting together to throw a party at OSCON and you are invited! Come join us at the Doubletree Hotel (5 minute walk from the convention center)for drinks and snacks.
Check out the ZDZ post for a map to the location and the times for this free party. They have a list on Upcoming going to get an idea of the attendance, so if you're planning on hanging out with the PHP crowd, let them know you're on your way.
He's also included brief summaries of what each is about for you to pick out which you might want to attend. In the comments of the post, he mentions yet another conference (just passed unfortunately) for UKers - the PHPConference UK.
Anyway, here is the link for submitting a proposal and the currently listed tracks include Linux, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, Java, Databases, Desktop Applications, Web Applications (client-side and server-side), Windows, Administration, Security, and Emerging Topics.

Reporting with his own coverage in the trenches of Oregon, Cal Evans has posted Day One of his coverage of this year's OSCON, with a PHP slant (of course) on Zend's Developer Zone.
He mentions this year's OSCAMP and its facilitator, Brandon Sanders. Since today and tomorrow are tutorial days, the PHP content was light with only the one tutorial being held by Chris Shiflett covering "Power PHP Testing".
Stay tuned for more from this year's conference and more of Cal's great coverage and commentary.
The talks are collections of 5-minute talks given by the presenters (PHP community) with topics ranging from new ideas to Q&A sessions, even rants. If you'd like to enter your suggestions for a lightning talk of your own, be sure to get them in before July 21st, 2006!
His topic will be "Writing Your Own PHP Extensions: How & Why from A-Z" and will be presented as a beginner's guide to creating these expansions on the PHP core. It will explain the "whys" and where to get started as well as some resources and other materials on where to go from there. Some basic code will be provided to get your feet wet and provide a base to work from.
For more information on the talks being given for this year's conference, check out the sessions list and to narrow it down to just the PHP related talks, check out this. Other speakers covering PHP-related topics include Chris Shiflett, George Schlossnagle, Andrei Zmievski, and Rasmus Lerdorf.
The O'Reilly Open Source Conference for this year is getting closer and closer, and a few of the members of the PHP community have been selected to present their proposed talks for this year's edition.
Adam Trachtenberg has this new post on his blog today that mentions his submission of papers to two different conferences (OSCON and NYPHPCon) and his perspectives on each.
OSCON is my favorite conference of the year. There's nothing else that provides such a wide range of interesting speakers and topics. I love learning about PHP, but I find it even more fascinating to see what the Perl and Python and Ruby guys are hacking on, or pick up JavaScript and AJAX tips, or heckle the Java programmers.
It's the first year for NYPHPCon, but Hans and the whole NYPHP crew are great guys, so I know they'll put on a teriffic show. When I still lived in NYC, I attended NYPHP user group meetings on a semi-regular basis, and they were even kind enough to let me present once or twice.
He also mentions the talks that he'll be presenting - more about web services in PHP, a "secrects of ext/soap", and a look at the "magical methods" in PHP5...
