Washington, DC PHP Conference Announced (and Call for Papers)

A new PHP conference has been announed for those in and around the Washington, DC area - the 2006 DC PHP Conference happening October 18-20th. It's overarching theme will be "PHP In The Federal Enterprise and the World".

Come experience the first annual PHP Conference in the greater D.C. Metropolitan Area! PHP is a robust programming language with endless practical applications for government agencies, IT companies, and non-profit organizations.

PHP was recently awarded "Programming Language Of 2004" by TIOBE Software, a respected coding standards company, and is quickly gaining ground for producing server-side applications, providing dynamic web content and a broad range of robust and scalable software applications. Come learn what PHP has to offer at the 2006 DC PHP Conference!

The conference also has their Call for Papers open through the 7th of July. The session tracks your presentation would need to fit into are:

  • Integrating PHP with the Federal Operations and the Enterprise
  • Security & Accountability
  • The Art of PHP
  • The Business Case For PHP

The sessions need to be about 45-50 minutes with a Q&A to follow, and one speaker per track will be chosen to recieve compensation for air and hotel during the stay. To submit you paper online, head on over to their submission form now!

The Utah PHP Users Group has their latest meeting details posted for their May 2006 meeting.

The meetup will be at their usual location, the Linux Networkx offices, and will be happening on May 18th, 2006 starting at 7:00pm. The speaker this time will be John Taber of Trafmetrics.com who will be discussing business topics as they relate to PHP.

Norbert Mocsnik has posted this reminder about his talk at the Hungarian Web Conference 2006 this year in Budapest.

Next Saturday (03.18.006) I'm gonna talk about the great new features of PEAR 1.4 on the Hungarian Web Conference 2006 in Budapest. Everybody is warmly welcome to visit the event (entrance is free but registration is required - hurry up, not too much seats left).
