Phuse:
The PHP Search Engine
Oct 02, 2002 @ 12:51:38

As part of the PHP Developer's Network, I'd like to announce something that's been a long time in the making from us - the PHP Unified Search Engine, or Phuse. The goal of Phuse was to create a centralized resource where you could (Google-style) search the contents of several of the PHPDN websites at once, or get specific to one site and get the results from it.

Included are PHPComplete, EvilWalrus, this site, and the PHPDN Forums, all with their own unique content to add to the mix (tutorials, code, news, and forum entries). As explained on the How it Works page, the scripts just use XML feeds from the various sites involved to get the results from each database, then ranks them according to relevance.

It's a pretty cool little tool, and can be useful for quite a few out there, especially with all of the content that we have to back it up. If you have any questions or comments about Phuse, please feel free to email all@phpdn.com
