For French fans of PHP, one of the leading sites on the web today was PHPInfo.net - yes, note the was. As of this writing, the site, which has served to provide valuable PHP information and content to the French PHP community is no longer being maintained and has closed.
The statement by J-Pierre reads that he just wants to "reconnect with his friends and family and explore broader horizons" in his online work, and devote more time to the work that he feels is important right now. But, don't worry - the site will not just be lost (since it was a wealth of information). He's working to create a static version of the site that will have a "frozen" version of the site, complete with all of the content and information up until the closing.
It's sad to see a well-established site like PHPInfo.net go away so suddenly like this. But, it is just a website after all - and if doing this site has taught me one thing, it's that, if you're not doing it for the love of the language and the love of the site - then don't do it at all. Farewell, PHPInfo.net and bonne chance....
