With the PHPCon 2002 coming up soon, the press has started to release pieces about it - starting with the Linux Today network. They have a brief general introduction piece posted this morning - nothing special, but it does give you a pretty good overall view of PHP and what it's all about.

This might be a good piece to show to the bosses teetering on the edge of letting you go to the conference. With quotes like: "People who like to learn directly from the people creating the technology should enjoy the highly technical talks at this conference. They will pick up more tools and different approaches to solving the web problem." (Rasmus) and "PHP simplified the web problem to the point that the people with the actual problem have a shot at solving it themselves as opposed to hiring professional programmers to do it for them." (Rasmus)

The PHPCon 2002 should be a really cool event - I just wish I could go this year, but we won't get into that now, that's a topic better served in a rant....
