Back in the glory days of web work, the "webmasters" were respected and revered. They were people that could do the impossibly with a company's website and make it all work together in harmony. But, over the years, that image has faded. Too many people have been taken by companies that just didn't stick around, and have had a world of trouble from it. The result? No one trusts the "webmaster" anymore. They think that anyone can do their job, just because there are tons of people out there advertising themselves as "webmasters".
Well, the fine folks over at Evolt.org have something to day about that - and they have a few suggestions on what you can do, as a webmaster, to make others feel the love.
It's a short piece but it still has some good suggestions in it, like "respect your peers" and "get some good training" - that way, when people ask, you can have the stuff to back it all up.
