For all those sites out there that think they'd benefit from a "job posting" section, but don't want to have to take the time to work it all out and worry about features and problems - then the latest article from SitePoint is for you.
In "The Perfect Job - Part 1", they get started with an introduction of what it means to have a good job posting and management site. They provide you with some theory and ideas that will help you not only create a site that will help you match people with jobs, but also provide you with a good way to manage all of those resumes that will come pouring in. After that, they start in with the "meat" of the project, giving you a rather large database structure (at least it's complete) and some sample scripts to help you get started on your way to having a site you or your company can use to post jobs, review resumes, and match applicants with positions.
There is a whole lot in this article, and it's not to be taken lightly. They do help you out a bit with a "jobs.sql" file to make the database layout for you (...in the source code archive) as well as all of the code to help you get there and make a good "base" to work from. Obviously, you'll want to add more features and company-specific information and images to the mix, but, for the most part, the hard work is already there just waiting for you to use it.
