Dynamic Happiness:
Flash and PHP
Aug 22, 2002 @ 12:36:11

Remember way back when I told you about the first part of an article about making a Flash email form with PHP and Flash from the fine folks over on DevArticles.com? Well, they're back with more code-packed article goodness.

Part 2 of the Dynamic Flash: An Interactive Email Form series builds on what you learned from the first one (assuming you still remember it) and more. They help you, step-by-step, build the form that Flash uses to communicate with the backend PHP script, as well as show you the ActionScript needed to get it to submit the information.

This article is a step in the right directions, but I've said it before, and I'll say it again....Flash and PHP (or any other backend scripting) is sorely underused these days. There are some really cool uses that you could work out with the two combined. Even just simple things, like a well-placed email form or a site search engine with a little flair help to make a site look just that much better, and help the pages flow a little bit smoother.
