Remember the web services Amazon.com offered to the public a while back? Well, almost immediately, there were tons of classes that popped up all around that dealt with the output of that connection to their API and did various things with it.
Once person, however, took it upon themselves to really work at it and make a site that resembles the Amazon.com website very much. Calin Uioreanu worked at it and created a digital camera shop from a PHP class and the Amazon API. For a bit more indepth look at the idea behind it, take a look here as he explains why he used more XML parsing rather than the XSLT that the Amazon.com API supplies, and the caching layer that he added to make the page a bit more efficient.
It's a cool idea, and frankly, I'm surpised that there hasn't been more of this out there. I know that Amazon.com doesn't want people leaving their site in lieu of other ecommerce sites, but it's all using their information anyway.
