More often than not, since PHP is still such a "behind the scenes" languge and doesn't have the large commercial backing that ASP or the other web scripting languages do, some employers might be hesitant to allow the use of it on company projects. They might say "Well, I've never heard of it! Is it some kind of fad language going around?" to which you can respond, "No! Of course not! In fact, I have a site right here that tells about a lot about the benefits of PHP!" Then, as your boss reads, he'll think you're a genius and gives you a big raise and a new corner office....

Well, okay, so maybe all that won't happen, but I can bet that your boss will be happy with the results that he reads about on this page from BadBlue. They cite several reasons that PHP is not just some random web scripting language and that it really has a firm place in the online world of today. Of course, BadBlue has to get their plug in there, but the article is still a valid one. PHP is still growing by leaps and bounds to be one of the most supported, most used, highly featured web scripting language out there, and I'm all for keeping it that way....
