From the makers of the original PHP Accelerator comes a new product that will keep the safety of your PHP scripts, even when they're out of your hands. The ionCube Encoder allows you to encrypt your scripts so that you can distribute them with the peace of mind that no one will reverse-engineer them or abuse them for means that they weren't originally intended for.

Right now, it's just a service, and you have to upload your scripts to them to be encoded and then get them back, but eventually, they plan to release a stand-alone encoder for use however you see fit with the same technology. There's several features that make this encoder a viable alternative including: PHP Safe Mode Compatibility, Speed of Encoded Files, Full PHP Support, and the fact that it actually compiles the code, not just encode the source (a big difference).
