PHPDN News:
PHPComplete, USE, and Unified Logins
Jul 18, 2002 @ 11:37:26

Just to keep all of you out there up to date on a few things that are happeneing with the PHP Developer's Network - no, we haven't given up on it, and yes, we're still working on a a few things. First off, Jason over on PHPComplete.com is looking into opening the source for his site. There's an obvious need for the site to become so much more than it currently is, and one of the ways that could help it is to have that external input from other developers. Frankly, I don't want PHPComplete to be considered just a CMS. The underlying program is being built more as a community program, allowing people to build a website that is built for a community. So, if you're interested in helping or just getting a peek at the source that makes it all happen, go and leave a comment and tell him...

Also, two things that we've been promising from the beginning of the formation of the PHPDN was the "Unifined Login System" and the "Unified Search Engine". Well, the USE has come out in its infant versions over on the PHPDN site already, and we're working to get it more in tune with what the developer community needs as a web service. So, that's just a matter of work, but the "Unified Login System" is proving to be a little more tricky. We have a proposal on the table and are working it out to make it the cleanest, simplest system we can. So, please bear with us on this as we try to bring you the best services as a network that we can. And, as always, if you have suggestions for what you'd like to see, you can either share them in the fourms or just simply leave a comment here...
