Call for Papers, and Apache as a Proxy
Jun 13, 2002 @ 12:24:32

Over on PHPEverywhere this morning, they have a new post about the Call for Papers by the International PHP Conference. For those that don't know what the IPC is: the International PHP Conference is the right place for PHP enthusiasts and those wanting to use PHP in the near future - there will be workshops and sessions from the professionals of the industry, everything that you need for your daily work. (loosely translated)
If you would like to present at this event (and can make it to Frankfurt, Germany for Nov. 3-6th, then check out this link for more information.

Now, while it's not exactly PHP news, DevShed.com has a new article this morning that might be of interest to tons out there that already use Apache. Using Apache as a Proxy Server details how to set up and use it as a proxy for all of the HTTP and FTP connections for your network. They show you exactly how to set it up for your network, including what to put in the httpd.conf file - even how to block some sites from being shown (with ProxyBlock). There's all sorts of featuers that they talk about in this article, and if it even interests you slightly, you should check it out. It might be an easy (cheaper) way for you to work with firewalling your users.
