First off this morning, we have the latest CodeWalkers Contest (sponsored by Zend). This time, the object of it is to create a maze based on the input that's specified in an input file. I'm glad that they let up a little on the heavy math kinds of things, and returned more into the creative side. As always the submitted scripts will be judged based on functionality (if they do the job they're supposed to 100% of the time) and on appearance (the look of the results, not the look of your code - heh). There are some pretty good prizes for this one - like a PHP Developer's Cookbook, and a copy of Zend Studio and variaous Zend swag as well. I also got a submission this morning from Morten telling me about a group that's going to do a PHP Crash Course Here's a little detail on it: The course will be focusing on learning out the basics, we dont mean to make you into a professional as soon as you've read it we simply mean to give you a boost into the world of PHP. The course covers mostly everything from variables to functions. Looks like they're just going to be just a "class" on an IRC channel - I assume with the teacher just talking and fielding the occasioanal question. We really need more of this kind of thing, but with a more structured feel to it...If you have suggestions, leave them here under the topic in our forums.
