Well, one of the comments on the previous article was about interviews with people in the PHP community. Now, while it isn't ours, SitePoint has a new article that is an interview with the man that started it all - Rasmus Lerdorf. It's got the basics that most of the interviews with him have - origins of the language, why he wrote it, PHP in the mainstream media, and some details about how PHP works. One interesting question (obviously from someone that uses PHP) was the "What are your views on Magic Quotes and Register Globals?" question over here. It's nice to see some original questions asked of him as well - there's a few in there that you can tell where the reviewer did his homework on PHP. One last cool thing is the final, wrapup question that they ask here about "what would you love to do?" he answers with a neat idea about small linux-based devices for use around the house.
If you haven't gotten a chance, or haven't been there in a while (it wasn't updated for a long stretch there), check out PHPBeginner.com. It has the feeling of just a tutorial list, divided into categories, but some of them are pretty nice, clear pieces. Most of them seem focused towards the beginner in all of us, but there are a few that get a little more in-depth (like the The Power Of Three: XML, XSLT and PHP piece). So, check them out and see what you think..
And, lastly, your favorite webmaster (no, not him! me!) has been quoted in one of the latest NewsForge articles this morning. The article talks about Zend and it's role in the PHP community with its products and services. This piece, unlike the one I posted the other day, is a nice writeup on Zend and their products.
