There was a story a little while back that talked about the phpAdsNew package of scripts for use as an "ad management system". Well, over on SitePoint this morning, they have their own review of the software. Apparently it's one of the more widely used, and, in the reviewer's opinion, it's the best ad management system on the Internet. They do give you a quick overview of how to get it up and running, but nothing overly detailed - it's mainly an overview of the features. Honestly, this does look like a nice, simple system to manage your ads, whether you're a Super-Mega Website or Joe's Tater Farm...
If there's one thing that baffles new people to MySQL, it's the whole user-management system. They have all of these different places and tables and values and stuff to set for each person, and it just gets confusing sometimes. Well, DevArtciles.com has something just to help those people out. Their latest article provides you with all the basics for knowing how to set up users for your database system. They give you the grant syntax, followed by a variation that shows you how to give only limited permissions to a user. There's really not much to MySQL users, and there's really not much to this article, but it is a nice intro to the subject.
