Looking for more information on how to do PHP the right way? Check out PHP: The Right Way

FreeMovie, PHPComplete.com, and Zend

Over on PHPEverywhere this morning, they have something that could eventually be an answer to a lot of programmer's wishes for Flash content on their site. The FreeMovie project is a class of functions that works to create SWF movies through PHP code. Now, while this isn't anything new (there's a few other projects doing the same thing), the code for this one looks the easiest to use of all of them. So, if you're looking for something like this, be sure to check out the FreeMovie project.

Looks like there might be yet another PHP site on the horizion - one started by the folks over at the NewbieNetwork. In his words: Because, NN was created by me so that I could learn, and simply put: I wasn't learning anymore. I wasn't being challenged by my readers. Personally, I think it's a great idea. Right now, NewbieNetwork is the PHPDN's main tutorials sites, so it only makes sense that they'd want to expand that with more than just a "newbie theme" to the whole site. I'll keep you posted on the progress of the new site as things develop.

And, lastly this morning, there's an article over on the ZDNet UK Site about Zend and their contributions to the PHP "world". It reads a little less like an article and a little more like yet another Zend press release, and, of course, a link to their Encoder product (*cough*$2,400*cough*). Ah well, maybe the PHP Developer's Network will make it big someday and we can all write articles about ourselves too! woo!
