Well, normally I don't do product releases on the front page - they're reserved for the Products section and the info just stays there. But, this one's a little different - this one is more about the little guy that could. I know that lots of you our there have heard about the alternative to one of Zend's products - the PHP Accelerator - but now, the latest version has been released, version 3.1. Be sure to check out the changelog and their main page for more details on this release. For those that don't know what this software does, it is: an easily installed extension to the PHP Zend engine that accelerates PHP scripts by typically up to 5 times. So, what I want to know is - who out there is writing PHP scripts that really need this? Those must be some major functions you're calling there...
Also, for those that might be interested, there's been an addition to the PHPDN Site News page of yet another RDF file - this one shows the last ten posts from the Unified Forums that the PHPDN members share. Also provided is the class that you can use to parse this, and a lot of the other RDF files out there...
And, last, but definitely not least this morning - the latest build of PHP 4.2.1 RC2 has been posted out there for the general public to use and abuse. And, of course, of you're a good little PHP developer, you'll help out the PHP/QA guys and provide some reports back on your build. Thanks to DynamicWebPages.de for the links.
