Ever wondered where you might go if you needed to get a version of PHP2 for some reason? (wasn't it PHP/FI back then?) Well, fear not! One loyal PHP coder has taken it upon themselves to keep copies of most (if not all) of the old archives of the PHP source distributions on a public FTP. http://ftp.proventum.net/pub/php/ goes all the way back to php-1.99s.tar.gz through php-4.2.0RC4.tar.gz (last I looked). I'm sure that PHP.net has something like this, but this is the first I've seen of a public site that doesn't require any kind of special access...Thanks to newbienetwork for pointing out this PHP Museum.
Also, from over on PHPBeginner.com, a site we haven't heard from in a while, there are some new tutorials posted! They have four new articles with topics like: Localizing Your Site and Redirection Using PHP. This site has been up for a while now, and I had thought it had fallen by the wayside - I just hope that this trend continues and they keep going with some good, solid tutorials.
And, last, but definitely not least this morning - I have a note from Daniel Kushner about some PHP training going on in the NYC area for those that are interested. From the looks of the outline they provide on their site, they'll pretty much take you from an average joe to an uber-coder in two short days! (heh) Well, okay, maybe not a guru, but you'll be a lot closer to your goals with PHP. If you're interested, please check out http://www.websapp.com/training.php or send off an email to training@nyphp.org. Get your info in quick because the next class is on the 8th and 9th of May!
