Well, everyone's favorite PHP developer multiplied last night - Rasmus Lerdorf now has a son (9.0lbs, 19.25in. - a big boy) was born at 13:26 PDT on Wednesday March 6, 2002. If you'd like to see some pics from the family, check out this page - or to send congrats, email rasmus@lerdorf.ca.
Also new today is this article over on DevArticles. It's just a nice intro to Apache - including how to get it, install it (the easy way) and bend it to your will with tuning settings and configuration options. The article doesn't get into too much detail, leaving the tuning details to other sites, linked from the third page, but it's not a bad place to start.
And, last, but not least, Jorge Restrepo wrote in to tell us about a new Builder.com article that talks about writing user-defined functions in PHP. For those gurus out there, you already know this stuff, but for the beginners - you really should check this one out. It gives you a pretty good idea of how you can make your own functions in your scripts to make life easier on you and your fingers...
(Also, on a side note, if you haven't checked out Builder.com in a while, look at their slick interface...I like it).
