DynamicWebPages has a new review this morning about the Zend Studio 2.0 They installed it on a Windows machine (of course, that's all it comes for) and said that for what it was, it performed well. Not amazing by any standards, but it does have potential. Some of the neater features include the debugger and a "code completion" feature that lots of people might find useful. Overall, they didn't give it a bad review, but personally, for the price, I still don't think it's worth the cash they want you to fork over.
On the other side of the world, the NewbieNetwork has a review of the same piece of software - the Zend Studio 2.0. His review is a little bit better, stating that he liked the new version and that whatever the Zend developers are doing with Java, they are doing a very good job. The new version is faster and seems to work better, apparently. So, do yourself a favor, and at least try out this new editor, and see for yourself. It may surprise you.
Meanwhile, over on Zend's website, they have a new Code Gallery Spotlight posted. This is part 5 in the "Dynamic PHP Thumbnail Gallery" series that was started a while back. This part talks about two new functions: the show_jscript and select_gallery. These two just add some functionality to the site by compartmentalizing the Javascript code and, secondly, compartmentalizing the form to pick your gallery.
And, just a quick note of site news...I now have the first three postings showing as their full size, and then the ones after that show smaller. I think this will help things out a bit as far as reading all of the latest news and all. Let me know if anyone has any other opinions on it....
