As always, Zend has their latest Weekly Update posted today. This one talks about the upcoming comference, and an interesting little bug that lets you do $array=$array1+$array2 (that emulates the array_merge() function). Also from Zend, there is a new Code Gallery Spotlight - part four of the "PHP AutoGallery" script. This part discusses their url() function (that just helps in displaying the links to the client). They suggest getting the current HTTP_POST_VARS and using a function to build out the correct URL to put in a link based on that.
While not really news, I do think it's neat that Evolt has this kind of community around them and can develop for it. Check out thier latest article and see what kinds of cool features they have and what kinds of things you can do to help.
For those that are wondering what the whole story on the NewbieNetowrk is, read on:
Okay, so I recieved this message today from my colocation provider with this message:
"Your server was hacked Friday. We recieved a call from an angry sysadmin at another
company that his server had been hacked from yours and your server was generating a
huge amount of traffic to his server. I disabled your server at the switch port."
This, of course, is the same server that runs NN. So, I have another hurdle to cross
to get the site back up and running. After its up again, I will have co-workers of mine
(Yes, I found a good PHP/MySQL job =)) do some security checks on it (and maybe get them
to do a tutorial on what they did, hehe). This is different from the previous hack, which
was just a website hack. This was instead a server hack (We are running Slackware), and
will be investigating the problem. Anyways, I would like apologize to all my visitors
out there for these problems. Luckily, none of this has had to do with any code I wrote,
but beyond that, I still feel responsible. Thank you for your patience.
