NewbieNetwork, ADOdb Update, and Site News
Jan 10, 2002 @ 17:02:10

Sorry about the late news posting guys....dentist appointment this morning. Anyway, on with the news!

For those that have been wondering, the NewbieNetwork isn't dying or dead by any means. Jason Lotito, the site's operator, has been in-between moving and loosing an internet connection for some time now. He assures me that once he gets the connection back (01.12.2002), he will be back in business. Thanks for your patience.

The guys working on the ADOdb stuff have made an update to the code that helps: Reduced memory footprint by 30% due to conditional includes and now has Interbase 6.5 and Firebird support. For those that don't know what ADOdb is - ADOdb is a database class library to hide the differences between the different databases (encapsulate the differences. We currently support MySQL, Interbase, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, PostgreSQL, FrontBase, Foxpro, Access, ADO and ODBC.

And, last but not least, I'm going to be working hard on the new site these next few days, and try to get it up and working this next week. I'm so close with the tutorials and the like. Thanks for your patience.
