Thanks to ApacheToday.com (yes, it's still alive - kinda) for the link to the latest Netcraft surveys for December. Looks like Apache still regins supreme with about twice as many web servers as IIS (cough).
Zend has a few new things this morning - first off, they have their latest weekly summary out. This one has mostly small things, but a good suggestion was to have the docs for PHP coordinate with the versions. For example, until now, you had to get the entire PHP manual each time there was an update. The suggestion is that they offer an "update" so that you only get what's new and not have to get the entire thing. Sounds good to me - less mess and less download times.
Secondly from Zend, we have a New case study. Unfortunately, they seem to have it messed up at the moment (it requires a user/pass to get it). So, if you want to read about how Zend helped Fanhome.com, you'll need to wait until they fix it.
And, lastly, there's a new tutorial out there that shows you how to make a simple image gallery. They have it set up to where you just place the images in a certain directory (thumbs) for the thumbnail images and then another directory (main) to hold the full size images. Something that uses GD or the unix image resizing stuff might be more fun, but if you just need something simple and don't mind making thumbnails, check this one out.
