Mike's Blog:
Hash Extension
Nov 28, 2005 @ 11:40:23

From Mike's blog today, there's this quick post looking at a new extension that's being introduced to PHPers everywhere - the hash extension.

If you didn't notice yet, there's a new, seemingly unimpressive, nevertheless very useful, extension on the horizon, namely ext/.

The initial version, proposed by Sara and Stefan -and it seems that Rasmus had his hands on it too- already featured the most common algorithms, and it has recently been extended to support now fairly every algo which libmhash provides.

There hasn't been a public release of it yet, but it's a pretty simple extenson - used to make various kinds of hashes of the string that's fed in. If you're really interested in checking this out, though, you can head over and grab it from the CVS tree...
