Wez Furlong's Blog:
Don't blog bugs, file bug reports
November 16, 2005 @ 05:56:00

Wez Furlong has posted a quick request directed to the PHP community as a whole - "Don't blog bugs, file bug reports (and read the manual before you do that)".

As an example, he gives a recent post from John Lim on a bug he found, and not putting the same information into a bug report on bugs.php.net.

The target of the bug here is the PDO functionality that Wez is working on, but, unfortuantely, there's just not enough info in John's posts to really get an accurate picture of what's going on.

Moral of the story? If you find something wrong with something core to PHP - file a report. The worst that can happen is it being marked bogus, but at least you tried.

Oh, and Wez will like you...
