ACcording to this new post on the php|architect website, it looks like the book sales from their Pocket PHP Reference allowed php|architect to send off a check totaling $4,000 (Canadian) to the Red Cross.

Great news'"we just received the Canadian Red Cross' acknowledgement of the first donation we made from our hurricane relief fund initiative. At the beginning of October, we sent in the first cheque to the CRC for $4,000 (Canadian), the result of the sale of our book, php|architect's Pocket PHP Reference.

We would like to thank each and everyone for your support, which has made this great initiative possible.

And, of course, you can still purchase the book even though this first check has been sent - and help them reach their goal of $5,000!
