Wez Furlong has his look today at the Zend Framework - opinions, facts, and an effort to clear up some of the misinformation about it from an "insider's perspective".
There's a lot of speculation flying around about the Zend Framework; some positive, some not so positive. I'm getting a little bit sick of hearing people spread misinformation about it; I know that official news on the framework is pretty sparse, and that the speculation is mostly as a result of that lack of information, so I'm going to say a few words to try to improve the situation.
He answers questions such as "Why yet-another-framework?", "How 'legal' is your existing library/framework?", and shares a bit of the structure already in place (via a CVS checkout). He does mention that there is a reason that the code isn't open yet - an effort to keep it manageable and focused...
