On the Atlanta PHP Users Group site has an announcement from a local company about the Open Sourcing of a PHP framework they've developed in house - Lampshade, an advanced PHP framework built for the Linux / Apache / PHP / MySQL (LAMP) environment that offers web site developers a simple, convenient method for creating web-based applications.

My company has been using its own PHP framework, called Lampshade, when building products for our clients for a long time. As of today, we've made it open-source. Feel free to download and take it for a test drive.
They make a comment on their informational page about the release being at the same time as Zend gets theirs off the ground, so it'll be interesting to see what happens to Lampshade and other PHP frameworks as things progress...
