In this post on the Professional PHP Blog today, they confirm the rumor they'd talked about yetsterday (and Zend announced later that day) - the Zend PHP Framework and the PHP Collaboration Project that is behind it.

There is a sparse FAQ up at zend for PHP Collaboration Project. Looks like there is definitely a framework involved. (The eclipse stuff is nice, too, but my interest is in frameworks.)

Its a worthy project with a difficult goal.

I'm looking forward to seeing more information and I'd like to help out however I can.

He also asks the question "So this is the announcement of the start of a project to build a framework? Not the announcement of the delivery of a framework?" - which I think has a lot of us confused. Sure, there's the FAQ over on the PHP Collaboration Project's page, but it really dosen't give much more than marketing-speak for what's to come...
