CodeSnipers has part two of their "Guide to Hiring Developers" posted today, a continuation from this first part.
This is the second of a three-article series that touch upon the subject of hiring developers. The first part discussed the whole process and then focused on the issue of CV screening. This part discusses the process of the 1st interview, which is the equivalent of the phone screening that several companies do.
They cover the topics that should be covered in the first interview, including their previous work/samples, an assessment of communication skills, if they love the code, if they are a developer or a programmer, and much, much more.
This is a great series so far, and I'd recommend it to anyone out there looking to hire a developer/coder for their business - whether you've done it before or not. It might just provide you with an insight or a fresh perspective that you hadn't thought of before.
