On Wyome.com today, there's a note about a site that provides code snippets for different languages. Unfortunately, there's only 48 of them for PHP.
I know there are few more sites that have quite a few more listed, but this is the first site that I have seen that is in the format of a blog rather than a directory. It's a bit more interesting for a casual browse which is what my habits are. However, there are no RSS feeds that I could find which is a bit disappointing, and there isn't any syntax highlighting on the scripts.
There are 48 snippets of PHP code at Code Snippets. Code Snippets looks to have more of a selection of Ruby snippets, but that might be what Peter Cooper originally created the site for.
He also mentions in interesting idea - a "code snippet" feed, providing you and your reader with the latest snippets from a site. It would be a pretty cool project - unfortunately you run into a lot of the administrative-ness of the thing: verifying that code won't cause security problems, ensuring it's even close to being right, etc.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?
(As a side note, an interesting use for trackbacks could be from applications/sites that are using the code - showing it's use and how flexible it could be at the same time)
