On AllForces.com, the blog of Melvin Rivera, there are two parts of a series on how to get WordPress running over on your Mac.
In part one, he shows you how to get everything set up - installing PHP, MySQL, and Apache so that they all work together happily. Thankfully, the Mac OS X packages make this a simple task.
Part 2 he looks at the creation of subdomains on your Apache server - how to set them up, the lines for mod_rewrite, and configuring the virtual hosts. The idea is to make it easier to mirror your site locally for work on it.
These are a good start, and I hope that there will be more to come...the community can always use more Mac-specific documentation.
