SitePoint.com:
A Really, Really, Really Good Introduction to XML
Aug 24, 2005 @ 10:25:42

With all of the terminology flying around these days, it's good to see some of it calming down and becoming a "real" technology. In the not too distant past, everyone was ranting and raving about XML being the next huge thing - that it was going to change everything. Well, some still hold that belief, just not in the fanatical, fanboy kind of way. They're the ones that see the potential, and the ones that know all about it.

If you've just started getting into working with XML and are still a bit confused as to what it's all about, you might want to check out this new article over on Sitepoint.com - a "really, really, really good introduction to XML".

In this chapter, we'll cover the basics of XML — essentially, most of the information you'll need to know to get a handle on this exciting technology. After we're done exploring some terminology and examples, we'll jump right in and start working with XML documents. As you can tell, it's an excerpt from a book - No Nonsense XML Web Development with PHP, and is *definitely* a through introduction. With several pages of content for each of their linked pages, it'll take a while to get through all of this, but the payoff will be worth it...
