Marco Tabini has this new post on his weblog today with a note about some imporvements to the BeebleX PHP search engine - articles and forums.
You’ll notice the presence of two new databases in the main page: Forums and Articles. The forums database, for the moment, only contains indexed items from the php|a forums. The article database contains information taken from the Zend Developer Zone, PHP Builder and Developer.com.
In keeping with the philosophy of creating a very focused search engine, the BeebleX crawler does not “autodiscover” new sites. It simply crawls those it is provided, looking for very specific information. Also, the crawler is programmed so that it "knows" what to look for inside a web page that belongs to specific site.
With more and more advancements coming all the time, BeebleX is becoming a true destination for those seeking PHP knowledge. Save yourself the trouble of having to filter out the Google results for PHP (I get way too many references to .php files) and head over to BeebleX and check it out...
