John Cox has a new blog post today with details on one of the larger stories to his the PHP community today - the split of the Mambo developers from the Mambo Foundation.

alandd writes "There is a big story here. The developer team for Mambo, a leading content management system, has left the project over a dispute with Miro, the copyright owner. Seems Miro setup the Mambo Foundation in a much different way than the developers expected, as they explain in the story link.

Basically, the Mambo Foundation was to be formed without the help/consultation of many of the major players associated with Mambo. John agrees (as do I) with the split - making a separation from a corporation that doesn't want your input on the software you wrote but they want to market is a great plan. In fact, personally, I'd take my code and run screaming the other direction...
