Robert Peake's Blog:
Zend Certification Highlights/Thoughts
Aug 16, 2005 @ 10:57:59

With so many people getting more and more interested in the Zend PHP Certification, Robert Peake has decided that, now that he has been through the process (and passed!), he's going to "unpack" some of his experiences and thoughts as he went through.

He has two new posts covering it already, the first of which starts with the end - him passing the exam:

I passed. 200 sample questions, 134 flash cards, and hours of studying later -- I am now officially a Zend Certified Engineer. Continuing on in his look at the Zend Certification, Robert states in this new post that:

I believe the existence of the Zend Certified Engineer Program may do more to further PHP in the enterprise than the release of PHP 5.

Quite bold indeed - he suggests that since it's "all about adoption", seeing a certification come out for a language really cements its place in the world. It also makes it so that there's that line between casual PHP developer and a professional...
