With all of the PHP6 buzz flying around now, everyone seems to be getting their words out there, and Marco Tabini has posted his thoughts over on his blog today as well.

Now that the development branch of PHP (usually referred to as "HEAD") has been officially renamed to PHP 6.0 in advance of Andrei’s introduction of his Unicode patch, which was completed today, Rasmus has posted a message today to the development mailing list proposing a series of changes to be introduced with the new version of PHP.

He also talks about the new namespaces that might be introduced (and using them to "gracefully deprecate" older functionality) and what kind of effect some of these huge changes (like getting rid of register_globals) will have not just on the code/coders but also on the hosting companies and other businesses using PHP all around the world...
