Ben Ramsey has posted this quick note to let everyone know about a huge change coming in PHP - and its imminent introduction - Unicode support in PHP.
Sebastian Bergmann, however, suggests removing karma from those who don’t need to be making changes, and this is probably a good idea.
I just thought I’d point out that Andrei Zmievski announced today the official merger of Unicode support into PHP. Those who decide to make modifications to certain parts of the codebase during this time, says Zmievski, will suffer painful consequences (e.g. memorizing the entire Unicode character set . . . in binary).
Closer and closer we get...I know I personally can't wait for the latest version - Unicode support has been a long time coming, and we're almost there...
