If you're going to be around this year's Linux World and have been having some issues with Oracle and PHP, we have some good news - a group from Oracle will be there and be holding an event called the "Oracle & Linux Installfest".

It starts off with helping people install Oracle 10gR2 on Linux. Thanks to Red Hat and Novell for donating the RHEL4 and SLES9 media.

Then we get to watch Open Source Development Team during the 'OCFS2 Challenge' -- A 10gR2 RAC shared home, using a two node heterogeneous iSCSI linux cluster, in under 20min up and running.

We then close it out with the Oracle PHP dev team as they demonstrate best practices for Oracle & PHP, and how you can build on your investment in SQL, Java and BPEL while taking advantage of PHP's explosive growth and new functionality.

Sounds like a great learning experience, especially for those that might be strugging with getting Oracle up and working, or just want to get more of an inside look into how PHP and Oracle interact.
